Fellowship in Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

Dr. Patrick C. Vallance is a Calgary-based General Surgeon with a focused practice in hernia surgery, robotic & minimally invasive surgery, and abdominal wall reconstruction. He completed fellowship training in Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction at the University of Texas in Houston, with expertise in the management of recurrent hernias, large ventral and incisional hernias, loss of domain, infected mesh, parastomal hernias, and other challenging abdominal wall defects. His practice combines open and minimally invasive techniques to tailor treatment plans to each patient's anatomy, goals, and overall health, with an emphasis on durable repair, reduced complications, and a safe return to function.

Dr. Warren Sun MD MSc FRCSC

Minimally Invasive General Surgery and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction

Dr. Warren Sun is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Cumming School of Medicine practicing minimally invasive general surgery at the South Health Campus. Prior to this, he completed medical school and general surgery residency at the University of Alberta. He also completed a Master's of Science in Health Economics, Policy, and Management at the London School of Economics. Dr. Sun has co-authored 19 peer-reviewed articles, and 36 conference abstracts. His clinical interest focuses on minimally invasive hernia and complex abdominal wall reconstruction techniques.
